For the past few months, StrongAuth (our parent company) has been working in collaboration with several other tech partners to create a way for public safety (e.g., police officers, EMTs, firefighters) to access their data securely and easily while responding to emergencies.
This project has been under the umbrella of the National Cybersecurity Center of Excellence (NCCoE). As they put it:
On-demand access to public safety data is critical to ensuring that public safety and first responder (PSFR) personnel can deliver the proper care and support during an emergency. This requirement necessitates heavy reliance on mobile platforms while in the field, which may be used to access sensitive information. However, complex authentication requirements can hinder the process of providing emergency services, and any delay—even seconds—can become a matter of life or death. (You can read more here).
As we continued to be involved in this project and interact more with the first responder community, we’ve realized what a strong fit the StrongKey Tellaro is for this market — affordable and highly secure, while enable first responders to access their data wherever they are.
If you’re interested in learning more about this project, the FIDO Alliance and the NCCoE are hosting an upcoming webinar on December 7. You can register here.
